Pegleg Pete, by Ruth Rae

I wonder how he lost his foot?

One of our beautiful blue herons has died, and I am trying to work out how to salvage his feathers and bones: any hints?

I watched a nature documentary recently about exotic birds, I believe it was set in New Guinea? Anyway, the local tribes collected their exquisite feathers to make necklaces and head gear, thus symbolizing their prowess…

Hey There…I love the comment you left on my blog. Our coastline has all the same birds(East coast). Our great blue herons are amazing to watch. I will “ponder” about the bones and feathers.

We used to have a deer missing 3/4 of it’s back leg. I was always afraid the hound would find the missing appendage and drag it back to the front porch. Amazing how they all adapt isn’t it?
