Storm Clouds

I wish I could write a song to the glories of lying in bed just absorbing the dawn – very dramatic: high tide, lowering gray-purple cloud on the horizon with ethereal blue above. The water was very smooth and dark so the only way I could see the ducks landing was sudden sprays of white water, like shooting stars. Impossible to photograph.

We didn’t get in and unpack until about eleven last night, a very satisfactory day’s work, and today is unstructured, mainly sewing bedskirts and duvets, and hunting out thermal underwear for our trip to Washington D.C. on Friday – though I will fiddle about with my new aprons, and mentally construct the Union Jack in Rags which has been lurking in the back of my mind during boring airport waits

a bit like this - distressed and salt-stained~

I can only imagine what you saw this morning. When I walk along the creekside trail I experience the awe of nature like that. I never want to leave, I will walk for hours, and often just stand on the banks to observe more closely the wildlife and sway of the creek water.

Thank you for your comment…I like what you wrote so much that I have jotted down your words in my journal.
Your Union Jack will be amazing…enjoy your day of sewing…and sipping tea to keep warm in this stormy weather. We have majestic clouds overhead right now.

  2. What a beautiful photo! Xo, Lynn

  3. I’ll be waiting for that Union Jack, I’ve always wanted a patchwork one…
    Just spread the love here:
