City Fix

Just back from Washington DC feeling calm and revived after three days of sightseeing and one twenty-two hour day of filming and travelling. We ate well, got spectacularly lost (could murdering a GPS be called a crime of passion?), saw Mount Vernon and Frederick Douglass’ house as well as varied Smithsonian museums, Georgetown and Congress. In fact from our hotel balcony we could see the Washington monument at one side, Congress on the other, and the Smithsonian Castle straight ahead, within spitting distance.

Big thought coming away – how like Paris Washington is, and I’m sort of fed up with Paris, so Washington it shall be.

I visited Washington when I was 20. It was one of my favourite places in the US. I love a good monument or two. xx

Beautiful place to visit. Funny too that I live only about 60 miles west of DC and am in the Blue Ridge Mts. DC is close enough to visit and we are far enough to enjoy the quiet of the mountains. ~~Sherry~~

  3. Dear Tricia,

I have had a BALL going back through your posts. Fun. Love the header pic of you sewing outdoors.

Thanks for the great afternoon visit.

  6. Now I’m intrigued; have never heard DC compared to Paris. Would very much like to visit – have not yet found the excuse :)
