Summer in the City

At heart I am a city girl: I love the buzz – well, I lived in Soho for five years!  So it is a special treat for me to have a real city day, nothing boring like shopping, just eating, visiting, having coffee

and people-watching on vibrant city streets.

We found this stall on Bryant, run by a girl of about ten: her mother makes these beautiful little jellies

almost too beautiful to eat!

Street art: licit or illicit?

Lots of street planting

So it’s a good thing I have friends in interesting places…

I love those jellies! They look divine.

My husband took my son through Soho, London for the first time the other week en route to Covent Garden. He thought it was was cool. Didn't notice the seedier parts but loved the whole film company vibe.

  7. Miriam Leigh says:

I'm so intrigued by the jellies. I tried to make sense of the description (in Spanish) but I'm still not clear what they are. She adds gelatin to fruit juices? But how does she make the "flower?" So interesting!

  8. Tricia Rose says:

The flower is milk jelly – but I have no idea how she does it!
