Quote of the Day

Quote of the day on my Google home page was “I’m sick of following my dreams. I’m just going to ask them where they’re going and hook up with them later.”

I have no right to feel so browned off, I had my lovely friend Leo for all too short a stay, I have blitzed the house and everything feels fresh and lovely, and yesterday went to a party which was so wild I can’t show you the photos. Let’s just say that Mary is an artist and had set up a crib and costumes for willing participants to demonstrate how they would like to be re-born, and some of the sailing fraternity got totally carried away.http://marz-art.blogspot.com/2010/05/crib.html

Today however. Gardening in the morning, but in the afternoon I didn’t want to sew since it’s a ‘holiday’, we went to Borders where I couldn’t find the book I wanted (Terry John Woods’ ‘New Farmhouse Style’), and I have so O.D.ed on design and house porn in pursuit of my craft that nothing could please me. So I ordered the new bathroom window (the rail of the old one came away in my hand) and now I am home again avoiding the kitchen.

Not exactly the high life is it?

Do you remember in Peanuts how Lucy declared she didn’t want life’s ups and downs, she wanted ups and upper ups? What I want is more along the lines of waking up in an alternative life, just for a breather. I could be a Neolithic hunter, or a street kid, or a very successful embezzler – a ‘Nose’, an opera singer, a stupendous athlete, a tree, a bird (nice one), a shark, a Hemingway character…
