Troll Garland

Oh dear, I can see this is only further evidence of the twisted charms of wood.

I found the troll garland while we were filming sheep beside the Petaluma River, having gate-crashed a weird private club with big gates protecting heaven knows what, surrounded by bull-dozed trees. This marvellous knarled root was in a pile, so I requisitioned it, hung it from the old red beam I pulled out of a bonfire behind a vineyard on the Russian River, then stuck it with some of my best reclaimed hand-made antique nails and called it St Sebastian. I love it to bits, and even built the dado rail around it to show it at its best.

I don’t think the rope is right.
