I love my Wood Butcher’s bathroom, with all the carpentry made by my own hands. It turned out Japanese and spa-like, with the Ikea Molger slatted walnut panels used as bath panels and cupboard fronts, and black iron and raffia hooks and handles which were discontinued as soon as I found them.

The basket contains twenty-four white face clothes, tightly folded and rolled, for use as guest towels, Family Don’t Touch.

You can just see the edge of the stool – I always have a chair or stool in the bathroom, and do a more thorough job of brushing my teeth because of it (good for kids too). You get a glimpse of the hall in the mirror.
