Crab Nets

This room had white walls, a lowered ceiling, condo carpet, and the front door opened straight from the street (first thing we fixed!)

I moved the gate so now you walk the length of the house and enter via a hall which used to be the front half of my son’s bedroom. The old entrance porch is now my office, all 30″x66″ of it. I framed two huge mirrors with driftwood and positioned them to reflect the sea. I raised and planked the ceiling – myself – and installed two skytubes. The floor is original douglas pine, and a new wood stove gives heat in winter. Bookshelves are built the length of the street wall.

The room is 18′x30′ and contains only the dining table and chairs, and all the other rooms lead off it, like in a French farce.

Crab nets? The light fittings!
